Nairobi National Park was established in 1946 about 7 km south of Nairobi. It is fenced on three sides, whereas the open southern boundary allows migrating of wildlife to move between the park and the adjacent Kitengela plains. Herbivores gather in the park during the dry season. Nairobi National Park is proximity to close to Nairobi city and its relative small size, but boasts of a large and varied wildlife population and is one of Kenya's most successful rhinoceros sanctuaries.
Tsavo East National Park is the oldest and largest park in Kenya. It is a vast semi-arid wilderness famous for its huge herds of red elephants, big lion prides, and the world's longest lava flow - Yatta Plateau. It offers classic safari experiences with abundant wildlife like giraffes, zebras, buffalos, cheetahs, and diverse birdlife, especially around water sources like Aruba Dam and Lugard Falls. Tsavo West National Park is located in Taita-Taveta County of Kenya. The park covers an area of 9,065 km2 . The Nairobi-Mombasa highway and the standard gauge railway divide the park from the adjoining Tsavo East National Park. Together with adjoining ranches and protected areas, they comprise the Tsavo Conservation Area. Tsavo West is a very popular destination due to its magnificent scenery and the Mzima Springs, rich and varied wildlife, a good road system, a rhino reserve, rock climbing potential and guided walks along the Tsavo River. The park is operated by Kenya Wildlife Service.
Lake Nakuru National Park rests squarely on the floor of the Great Rift Valley. It is surrounded by a wooded and bushy grassland best known for its sky mirrored lake waters extending to an expansive mass of semi-alkaline water, particularly known for it's large number of flamingos that nest in the lakes shore, and for being one of the best places in Kenya to see white rhinos. Lake Nakuru National Park is a ball of beautiful sights waiting to be explored. A wide ecological diversity, varied wildlife habitats, plant and animal species await the wild outdoor lovers. Amboseli National Park is located in southern Kenya and is famous for its huge elephant herds, stunning views of Mount Kilimanjaro, diverse habitats (savannah, wetlands), and rich birdlife, offering iconic safari experiences with close wildlife encounters, especially for photographers and elephant enthusiasts.
